The playful, mischievous monkey quickly becomes a favorite of many infants. Whether it’s through the stories of Curious George, a sock monkey that’s part of family tradition, or whatever other way, tehre’s just something that attracts youngsters to our primate cousins.
That’ll make it so much easier when it comes time to put a cap or hat on the baby! Whether it’s to keep them warm or protect them from the sun, or even just to dress them up for some great pictures, it can sometimes be a struggle to keep their headwear in place. But they’ll (usually) love dressing up like a monkey!
Here you’ll find some of the cutest and most popular monkey-style hats we’ve come across. From baseball caps to winter hats with ear flaps, there’s a bit of everything here. And you’ll surely find one that will brighten baby’s face and your own!
Baby Animal Sun Hat – Monkey
This cute sun hat is great for the beach! Its wide brim will help protect the child’s face from the rays of the sun, and the velcro strap will help keep it from blowing away (or getting knocked off).
The hat has a 50+ UPF rating. In case you’re not familiar with the UPF measurement, it’s the clothing equivalent of the SPF rating for sunscreens. It measures how much of sun’s rays are blocked by the fabric. In the case of UPF, this includes both UVA and UVB rays. A 50 rating means that around 98% of the rays are blocked from baby’s delicate head.
This hat can be turned inside out and still used. The interior doesn’t have an animal design and is a darker blue than the monkey side.
This is available in 4 sizes, from 3-6 months all the way up to 3 years. It’s made of cotton.
There are several other versions of this hat featuring other animals. Although this one is advertised as being in boys’ colors, we didn’t find an equivalent one in more traditionally feminine colors. Not saying it’s not out there though 🙂
The Original Sock Monkey Knit Hat
This is not a baby hat, but is suitable for young children. Regrettably, the original one we liked for infants is no longer available!
Sock monkeys have been around for decades and amazingly still retain their popularity! And it’s great to see this hat reflects that popular toy craze so well.
This hat is probably best suited for 2-13 year olds. It seems far too big for newborns, and we know of people whose 18-month-old couldn’t fit into it. It measures 8.5″ across and 5.5″ tall. The outside is acrylic and the inside is polyester. There is fleece and acrylic used in the shell to help it be warmer in the cold months.
MZLIU Monkey Cotton Baseball Hat
For the true baseball fan, there’s nothing that matches the first time you can take your infant to a game. And while it’s great to dress them up in the home team’s colors, you might want to consider this cute hat instead!
The blues aren’t so dark that they’d become overly hot, and the monkey face is incredibly cute – it’ll surely get the attention of everyone in your section! The brim will help keep the sun or bright lights out of baby’s eyes.
The hat is made of cotton and is available in sizes from 3-6 months all the way up to 4-6T – five different sizes in total (at the time of this writing, two were out of stock, but that could be fixed by the time you see this).
The hat has an adjustable strap in the back to help it fit more snugly on baby’s head.
Wrapping It Up
Babies need to have their heads protected from the cold and the sun. But being protected doesn’t mean they have to sacrifice cuteness! These hats with a monkey theme look great and will help keep your infant’s head safe and warm.
