Tigers are such powerful, majestic animals. Their sleek bodies, rich colors, and stately bearing make them attractive focuses of art and literature, as John Milton’s poem reminds us.
And that attraction is part of what makes them so popular as a cuddly stuff toy, too! Nearly every child is attracted by their beauty. And they’re just so cuddly, too!
Real tigers can reach from 6 1/2 to 9 feet in body length, with another 2 to 3 1/2 feet for the tail! They stand about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet tall at the shoulder. And they weigh in from 220 to 660 pounds! That’s one massive beast.
Their plush toy versions, though, are a bit smaller (most of them, anyway!) From about a foot long to five foot, we’ve found some awesome tiger toys that will cheer your youngster’s heart. They’re also great as team or classroom mascots.
So here are a few of our favorite tiger stuffed toys – what do you think? We love to hear from you, and hope you make some of these part of your home!
Douglas Silky The White Tiger Cub Plush Stuffed Animal
All we’ve talked about is the amazing colors of the tiger, right? So let’s start out with some amazingly different tiger colors! This white tiger toy is named Silky, and it’s absolutely adorable!
We do want to point out that he doesn’t really stand as in the photo above. It would take some stages to create that! Instead, it lies down.
At 15 3/4 x 11.81 x 7.87, it’s a fantastic size for cuddling. And it feels so great when you do give it a firm hug.
It’s great for kids over 3 years old. The eyes are sewn on, but they’re extremely well sewn and it doesn’t seem likely that they’d detach, even with regular chewing or tugging directly on them. The stuffing is soft polyester.
Arrow The Tiger
Getting back to “traditional” tiger colors, we’ve fallen in love with Arrow! With a 17 inch body length, he’s a big toy that your child may even enjoy using as a pillow. And that length doesn’t include the tail!
This cute guy looks kind of inquisitive as he stares at you. Not in the “I wonder how you’d taste” kind of way, but in the “I’m really interested in your well-being” way. And his posture looks like he’s just interested in relaxing and enjoying the day.
It’s made with acrylic and polyester fibers, and the stuffing is polypropylene plush. Kids three and up will love playing with him, or he could be great on display for younger children. It’s soft, but not floppy; it’s well-packed with stuffing to help it keep its pose and shape. The face is a bit tougher, as it seems to have a plastic shell under the plush to preserve the shape.
Anico 13″ Pick-A-Pet Plush Tiger
This tiger has a more cartoonish look, but he’ll still be a favorite of children of all ages! It’s about a foot tall and loves to be hugged. And it’s got the perfect body for all that hugging, too – soft and cuddly!
The stuffing is mostly batting. To help it sit, though, there’s a bean bag near its rear. It’s well-stitched, but we recommend it for ages three and up.
We don’t think this tiger is modeled on any particular cartoon, but it definitely looks like it could be a character right out of one. We could imagine your child could even think it matches a favorite character!
Huge Tiger Stuffed Toy from Melissa and Doug
We always love the stuffed toys that Melissa and Doug produce, and they go large here! These are amazing, and BIG, tigers.
We adore both the Bengal and the Siberian Tigers that they offer here. They’re over 5 feet long (including the tail). The bodies are about 46 inches long and 18 inches high.
And these aren’t simply different colors of the same animal – the poses are different, too. So if you get both, they will look more natural next to each other.
The material is soft to the touch. They’re well-stuffed to keep their shape, but still comfortable to hold onto.
The whiskers and eyes could possibly detach, despite being sewn on firmly. So we’d recommend these for kids 4 and up.
Aurora World Bengal Tiger Stuffed Toy
Our last choice is another great little guy, at about 12 inches tall. But he’s full of that great tiger spirit!
He’s a quality toy (typical of Aurora World!) but he looks kind of . . . well, sad. Your child may love trying to cheer him up, though.
It does have plastic eyes and nose, so we wouldn’t recommend it for children under two. But they are the lock washer type, so they should be sturdy. The materials are high-quality.
Wrapping It Up
Any tiger fan will enjoy these stuffed toys! They come in all sizes and shapes and feature both the Bengal and Siberian tigers. Even an older tiger aficionado will appreciate them on the bed or around the house!
