Animals are all so cute – we could just eat them up! And that’s just what you can do with a little cookie batter and these fantastic cookie cutters.
While you might not always be in the mood for baking, there’s always going to be someone around who appreciates your efforts. Warm, delicious cookies are always a treat. And when they come in familiar animal shapes, they’re even better. (Extra points if you take the time to decorate them, too!)
Let’s have a look at some great sets of cookie cutters. You can find a lot of individual animals on Amazon, too. We wanted to highlight a few of the best and most diverse kits here, though.
Wilton Animal Pals 50-Piece Cookie Cutter Set
Wilton is a top name in baking supplies, and they don’t disappoint with this huge set of cookie cutters! With over 50 pieces, you can have an entire zoo of creatures to serve up – but surely they won’t last long.
The average size of these is about 3″. They are made of a somewhat -turdy plastic and have a nice edge to hold onto.
Some people have had issues with receiving duplicates of the same cutter in their package, or sometimes cutters from other sets (alphabet, holidays, etc). However there do seem to be 50 unique animal cookie cutters when the set is packed correctly.
Woodland Cookie Cutters
Ann Clark makes a wide variety of cookie cutters and they’re available in sets or individually. We liked this set, though, with a great selection of woodland critters.
This package includes 5 cutters – a mushroom plus an owl, a deer, a fox and a hedgehog (although it could pass for a porcupine in a pinch). They range in size from about 3 1/4″ to 4 1/2″. They allow a one-inch cut and the edge is sturdy so they should cut well for a long time.
These can be hand washed, but are not dishwasher safe.
Fred DIG-INS Dinosaur Fossil Cookie Cutter
Dinosaurs is a field all to itself but they are animals, and these are so great, so we thought we’d toss them in here anyway. These cookie cutters are really big, too – up to 3 1/2″ in length. There are three different cookie cutters in the set.
These both cut and stamp, so you’ll be able to get that great dino design that would be too much to try to decorate yourself.
They also come with a great gingerbread recipe!
StarPack Premium Mini Animal Cookie Cutters
Starpack offers this great 8-piece set of animals – although there isn’t much theme to the set other than animals! Still, they make for great cookie cutters.
The set includes a horse, giraffe, cat, dog, squirrel, dolphin, duck, and goldfish. These are small cutters measuring only about one (1) inch. Between their edge and their size, the work well for a lot of other cuts too – cheese, ham, fruit or whatever you can imagine.
These are made of stainless steel. With your order you get a PDF titled “101 Tips and Techniques for Cooking like a Chef” (if you’re not familiar with it, a PDF is a computer file; they can also be opened on most mobile devices).
A full replacement or refund warranty covers these as well.
R&M International When the Cat’s Away Cookie Cutters
Cat lovers, this is the cookie cutter set for you! This is a set of 6 cookie cutters, as pictured. (the text on Amazon was a bit confusing, at least when we checked – it had info for a different set).
All are cats except for a single mouse that’s running for its life. It might be scared of the cats, but we suspect a hungry human’s going to take a big bite of it first!
They measure from 3″ to 4 1/2″ inches across. Ironically, the one they identify as a “kitten” is the biggest!
These should be hand washed and dried right away to get the best life out of them.
