The sweet songs of birds are great to wake up to in the morning, but those same birds can help guide you in the dark, too – at least when you use these night lights!
A stubbed toe is far more painful than it ought to be, but when we can’t see where we’re going, it’s a likely occurrence. Adding a little light to the hall or the room really goes a long way to safety.
Also, it’s great for guests who don’t know their way around. And it’s a special reassurance for young children!
The colors and image of a bird can help soften that light and provide some extra cheer as well. And it’s easy to find some great night lights that incorporate the picture or shape of a bird into their design. We’ve found a few great ones that we think you’ll enjoy.
J Devlin NTL 119-2 Bird Night Light Stained Glass
This stained glass cover for your night light will reflect the beauty of a simple song bird across the room.
The frame measures 4 1/2″ x 3 1/8″ and is made of frosted glass with the bird etched in black. The trim is a moss green. The frosted glass helps soften and diffuse the light and the colors provide a nice calm effect.
For safety, a lead-free solder is used.
The night light with the artwork is about 1 1/2″ deep. A 4 watt bulb is included.
You’ll love the great effect of this light, and it will look fantastic especially in a country home or cabin, bringing in some of the outdoor scenery into the house!
Amia Hand Painted Glass Night Light, Goldfinch Design
Here is a much more brightly-colored night light shield, a hand-painted image of a goldfinch!
The shield measures 5 1/2″ inches high and includes the light fixture and a bulb (wattage not specified). It’s about 3 inches wide. With the light fixture it’s close to 2 inches deep.
The piece is beautifully colored and will add not just light but cheer. And there’s several other images available, including a bluebird, peacock, and dove, as well as some non-avian designs.
Since these are hand-painted, there will be slight differences from piece to piece, but that can help add character, too.
Woodland Chickadees Night Light
Just look at this rich wintry scene! The depth of the colors of this piece really brings out the colors of these love chickadees.
You might like this as a seasonal item and just use it during the winter, but it works equally well year-round.
A 4-watt bulb is included. When plugged in, it’s fully shielded. The light shines fantastically through the glass front.
And the plug on this can be rotated so that the orientation of your outlet doesn’t matter – whether the plug has to go in vertically or horizontally, you can still enjoy having this picture facing in the right direction!
Robin Night Light
The robin, with its bold red breast, is probably one of North America’s most recognizable song birds. And with this night light, you can add it to your home’s interior decoration!
This image looks great and brings a classic feel to your decorations with its subject matter. The robin appears on a stylized background, rather than a natural outdoor one, yet it’s not so overpowering to distract from the bird’s beauty.
The front is made of glass and allows great light penetration.
An extra bulb is even included. It also has a rotatable plug to adjust for any orientation of your outlet.
J Devlin Stylized Green Stained Glass Nightlight
This stylized bird night light shade from J Devlin Stained Glass presents a great avian style for your bedroom, hall, kitchen or wherever you choose to use it. Great for when you want a more modern look!
The bird itself is made with a pale blue green opal stained glass. A lead-free solder is used and wire detailing creates the tail feathers.
Overall the piece measures 4″ x 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and includes a standard 4-watt nightlight bulb.
Stained Glass Red Cardinal Bird Night Light
Few animals stand out against any backdrop – summer or winter – as much as the bright-red cardinal. This fantastic bird is recognized in our woods and even our city backyards. And you’ll love making it part of your home decorations!
This stained glass image of the bird is just as brilliantly colored as the bird it pictures. And since red is a good color for a night light and doesn’t hurt our night vision as much as other colors, it can make it easier as we pass from its illuminated area to darker spots.
Just note that this does have a “safety plug” so it will only fit one way in your outlet. The plug does not rotate.
Wrapping It Up
Having a little light to guard your feet at night can be a huge help. But there’s no reason it has to be plain or boring. Nor are you stuck with choosing something more suited to a nursery. There’s many great designs, including those featured here that highlight our feathered friends. We hope you’ve found one you like and that will complement your style!
