Disney Animal Christmas Ornaments

There are wild animals and there are domestic animals. But some of the animals that have won our hearts and become enduring parts of our cultures are, in fact, animated. And no one can compete with the longevity and success of Disney.

From Mickey and Minnie to Winnie the Pooh, from Dumbo to Simba, animals have been part of our childhoods across generations. And we love to make these Disney memories part of our Christmas memories too.

It’s so wonderful to bring all the spirit of these characters to the Christmas tree. These decorations will cheer you and your family and friends as they recall great moments of the past and look forward to many Christmases still to come, and more great Disney movies!

What better place to start than at the beginning! Ok, we won’t get into all the details of Steamboat Willie and the full history of Disney’s animation, but Mickey Mouse was an early character and the most recognized over the years. It is, after all, the “House of Mouse”.

Mickey has had a couple Christmas movies of his own, so seeing him in a Santa suit is no surprise. This ornament is actually an official 2016 Lenox edition. Mickey holds a lanterm high. On the brim of his hat, the year (2016) is printed. That makes it great for a collection for a baby born that year, or perhaps someone who moved into a new home then. Or of course, it’s fantastic for any Disney collector!

The ornament is made of porcelain and measures 3.1 inches tall. It comes boxed. It has a gold tassel cord.

Lenox offers a lifetime breakage guarantee. It is not sold directly by Lenox but the warranty still applies.

A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories were adopted for the screen by Disney first in animated form and recently in live action. All of the characters are memorable, but Eeyore has always been a favorite of ours.

While he always seems to be depressed, he manages to hang in there. And of course he experiences a great deal of support from his friends in the 100 Acre Wood. In many ways, he can symbolize the sentiments many people have during the holidays. He’s no Scrooge and he’s not a Grinch, but life is just tough and it’s hard to stay upbeat at times.

In this great Hallmark ornament, Eeyore has presenting his very honest letter to Santa Claus. He writes “Dear Santa, I’ve been . . . ” but then he crossed out “good better than most” and honestly admits he’s been “not as bad as some.” That, too, is a sentiment we can share!

This ornament measures 2.7 x 2.4 x 2 inches. It’s made of plastic and designed by Nina Aubé. It was part of the Hallmark 2017 series. Of course, that goes great for Disney or Hallmark collectors as well as fans of Winne the Pooh merchandise!

The ornament comes in a gift box.

Simba Sketchbook Ornament – ”Baby’s First”

It might not have been easy being green when Kermit first crooned the song from the swamp, but it’s surely become easier because of his long and successful career in TV and film. When Jim Henson’s Muppets became part of the Disney family, it surely didn’t hurt either.

We may never know whose gift Kermit holds in this wonderful ornament – is it for us? Or maybe his dear Miss Piggy? But really, it doesn’t matter because it’s a gift just having him on our tree!

This is a 2014 Hallmark ornament, so you still have a chance to get it, even though it may be hard to find through official channels.

Hallmark 2016 Christmas Ornament Dumbo 75th Anniversary Musical Ornament

Did you know that Dumbo came out in 1941? That means that 2016 was the 75th anniversary of the film, and Hallmark especially a special ornament to celebrate!

Mrs. Jumbo cradles baby Dumbo in her trunk and the love between them is obvious. That can make it a great “baby’s first” ornament or a fantastic part of a baby shower gift during the holiday season.

And yes, it is a musical ornament. It plays “Baby Mine” from the original 1941 film. The song looks to become popular in 2019 again with the new live-action film; it is featured in the trailer.

The ornament measures 3 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ x 2 1/4″ and is made of plastic.

The ornament runs on 2 LR44 (“watch”-type batteries). These are included.

We’ve also just seen the trailer for the new version of the Lion King, and it’s another classic come back to life!

Simba doesn’t go back quite as far as Dumbo, but he’s become another fantastic Disney hero recognized by all.

In this ornament, a young Simba is fascinated as a butterfly hovers above his paw. The butterfly is attached by a spring to even allow a tiny bit of movement.

The base of the ornament reads “Baby’s First”, so it’s definitely a wonderful gift for any family who’s welcomed a newborn this year. The base is flat so you can display this on a desk, shelf, or elsewhere, too.

This was a 2017 edition from Disney.

Jiminy Cricket is really a great figure in getting ready for Christmas, when you really think about it. Having the little creature from Pinocchio around can spur our conscience and help make sure we always stay on Santa’s “nice” list.

This ornament shows Jiminy smiling and in his suit, all ready to celebrate the holidays. The bright colors will stand out on your tree. But it’s great to know this ornament can also stand on its own, so you can place it on a shelf or even on your desk!

Wrapping It Up

The joy of Christmas and the joy of Disney go so well together. These ornaments come from some top companies and will look great as part of your holiday decorations or even year-round. They’re fantastic keepsakes that can be handed down from generation to generation to share this fantastic part of our heritage.
