Ducks on Kids’ Umbrellas

How do ducks stay dry? I remember having a children’s book that explained this – but that was many, many years ago. I think it has something to do with the oil on their feathers, right? I guess I could just Google it – oh ok, there it is! Here’s a short video that explains it better than I ever could! If you already know, just skip to the text below!

Ok, so sometimes the desire to know gets the best of me. But let’s get back to our duck umbrellas! Just like ducks, we want to stay dry, too, especially when it rains. But it can be fun, too, so our umbrellas don’t always have to be plain black.

The duck’s special ability to stay dry makes them the perfect decoration for an umbrella. And we’ve found some great ones that incorporate them into the design! Let’s have a look at some of our favorites!

You’ll love this bright, colorful duckling who’s not afraid of going out in the rain! The design covers more than half of the umbrella and it even has a comb sticking up from the top.

We’re going to hold firmly to our belief that this is a duckling. We know some of you might think it’s a chick, but really, what sense would that make? Chickens don’t like the rain! But hey, it’s not a big deal, and it’s just as cute either way.

This umbrella measures 22″ wide and 27″ inches tall when opened. That’s perfect for a younger child, most likely of preschool age.

The cover is 100% polyester.

Many other designs are available, too. There’s a shark, a frog, a unicorn, and more – be sure to check them out at the link!

Like many umbrellas, it sometimes present durability problems. Overall it has high marks but some users have issues with it staying attached to the frame.

Here’s another bright umbrella, and your child’s friends will love at as they see him or her approaching with this amazing duckling!

With the structure of this umbrella, it almost looks like a huge baseball cap. It does have a duck’s bill – not it’s not like a hat’s bill. Confused? Sorry! Ok, it’s not actually 3D; the bill is part of the image, but doesnt’ extend out from the edge of the umbrella.

It’s lightweight and safe to use. for young children. It’s definitely not a high-end piece of gear, but will do the job for a while or with care.

It’s about 18″ long, good for a preschooler. When opened, it’s open 2 inches across.
