The bag measures 11.4 inches wide, 16 inches high, and 5.5 inches deep. Besides the main space for books, it has netted pockets on either side. There’s also a larger pocket on the front. Inside, you’ll find another 2 small pockets. The shoulder straps are padded for comfort, too!
It’s a great size – it can actually hold almost anything an elementary-school student would have to carry will fit in.
This is best for pre-school or early primary grades. It’s solidly made, but proabbly not solid enough for the demands that older children will have.
Wildkin 15 Inch Kids Backpack
Here we have a beautiful backpack features horses in all types of activity – galloping, trottiing, jumping, and more! The colors are really fantastic, too.
At 15 by 11 by 7 inches, it’s roomy enough for most basic needs, including text books, notebooks, and supplies. You could even fit a smaller laptop in there, although it’s not padded for protection.
It’s best for kids up to about 10 years old.
There’s even a side pocket. The company says it’s for a water bottle, although you could surely use it for other supplies, too! There are also two exterior pockets and a pencil holder and pockets inside.
There are even matching lunch boxes and bags available, if you want the whole set!
The quality is decent. It seems to hold up to normal use quite well.
Two Horses Print Child’s Backpack
This beautiful bag picutres a mare and her foal. It’s a lovely image in vibrant colors!
The bag measures 11 by 17.3 by 5.1 inches. That makes it a little bigger than others on our list. That might make it too big for pre-schoolers, but it’s still fantastic for students in the primary grades.
The shoulders strap are wide enough not to uncomfortably dig into the shoulders. The back of the bag is also padded.
There are mesh pockets on either side and a large zippered pocket on the front.
It feels tough enough to handle the day-in, day-out task of transporting school books back and forth. And the black base color and more subdued image may make it more attractive to slightly older children, too.

It’s a good size, at 11.4 by 15.3 by 6.9 inches. That’s not as high as, but deeper than, some other options. And that allows more normally-sized books, really
There are side pockets on either side and a zipper pocket on front.
This even has a laptop sleeve inside which will hold a typical 14 inch laptop! And there’s a small zipper pocket in the interior, as well.
It seems decently made. It probably won’t hold up to several heavy textbooks being carried regularly, but should be just fine for the lower grades, where they have less to carry.

We really like the more subdued colors of this one. It almost looks like a design that could be used on an adult bag!
The light blue background with black horse silhouettes is great, and goes well on the canvas material.
The bag measures 15 by 13.8 by 6.9 inches. That makes it very wide, although not extremely tall. Even the manufacturer notes that it could hold a 13.3-inch laptop – that’s definitely on the small side! And of course, there’s no special pouch for it.
One drawback is that there are no exterior side pouches; you only have the zippered pouch in front. And there’s a single zippered pocket inside, too. The straps aren’t padded very well, either.
It’s lightweight but good for carrying notebooks and basic supplies. It’s also great for sleepovers!
