Nothing says Christmas like . . . a giraffe? Ok, it might not be the most common association, but there are a lot of giraffe lovers out there and a surprising amount of cute Christmas ideas that will make them extremely happy! And they really are cute, too.
This giant of the African savanna might not be the first creature we think of when our thoughts turn toward the holiday season. But give a giraffe a Santa hat, a very long red-and-white scarf, and other Christmas finery, and it looks very much in its element.
Granted, there’s not as much variety here as there are for more “Christmasy” animals (like the hippopotamus, for instance!). But there’s still a few nice items, and we’ll share some of our favorites with you here.
Home Accents Holiday 73 in. LED Lighted Gold Grapevine Giraffe
This elegant piece doesn’t necessarily have to be just for Christmas, but it works great for the holiday! With its classic look, this giraffe will make quite the impression. The fact that it stands just over 6 feet tall helps, too!
This sculpture uses 160 LED lights to create a warm effect. It would look great on your porch or inside your home. Of course, it will take up a good amount of space, measuring 73″ tall by 30″ by 14″.
We could imagine this standing next to the Christmas tree, appearing to munch on it. Or maybe forming part of an honor guard along with a life-size nutcracker figurine. You’ll love the soft light it provides as well as its throwback, almost Victorian style.
Conversation Concepts Giraffe Original Ornament
As we said, it’s especially important for a giraffe to have a scarf. After all, that’s a lot of neck where they could get a sore throat! This tree ornament offers a great, colorful scarf wrapped warmly around our giraffe friend’s neck, as it kneels and looks out at your family.
This is a small piece, which is the main drawbacks. It’s only two inches high. Personally, we’d like it a little bigger if it’s going to go on a tall tree. But you may find it suitable. It also works great for smaller trees or if you just want to hang it from the mantle. It even sits pretty well flat!
The piece is made of resin and is hand-painted.
Sophie The Giraffe Christmas Ornament Ball
Sophie the Giraffe has been a popular teething toy for several years now, so it’s wonderful to see it turned into a Christmas tree ornament, too. This cute version of Sophie in a clear plastic ball is a great way to remember your baby’s first Christmas or to simply celebrate this cute creature.
The ribbon reads “Baby’s First Christmas”, although it’s not printed on the ornament itself. You could easily replace the ribbon if you love the ornament but aren’t celebrating the occasion.
There are small white plastic balls in the base. They give the appearance of snow, but they also let the toy serve as a rattle. It’s on the small side, though, so it shouldn’t just be handed to a child.
The overall size is about 3.5″ in diameter, with the giraffe being smaller, of course. That’s a nice size for an ornament!
Old World Christmas Baby Giraffe Ornament
This ornament from Old World Christmas offers a classic-style blown glass figure that’s also hand-painted. It looks like something that would have hung on our grandmother’s tree! It’s a wonderful piece and it’s large enough to stand out without overpowering the tree as a whole.
This giraffe measures 4.5″ high, 4.33″ wide, and 2.5″ thick. It’s remarkably detailed, too.
We’ve seen scattered reports that it wasn’t well-packed and therefore arrived broken, although these are uncommon complaints. However, we recommend you order early so that you can have it replaced if necessary.
Old World Christmas offers a great selection of products. When you visit the link above, you can also choose among several other beautiful creations, including a flamingo, a rhino, a hippo, and a peacock.
uideazone Giraffes Ugly Christmas Sweater
Getting featured on your own ugly Christmas sweater is how you know you’ve truly made it in life, right? Well, ok, maybe not. But still, ugly sweaters have, for better or for worse, become a part of our holiday celebrations. And this one features three giraffe who actually don’t look half-bad, despite the garishness of the shirt overall.
The rich colors and design highlighting these festive giraffes as they decorate a Christmas tree will make you a contender in any ugly sweater contest. There’s a lot going on here – way too much. But that’s the point, after all!
This crew neck sweater is really more like a sweatshirt without the inner lining. It’s available in sizes small through XXL; it appears that a XXXL version is also available but was out of stock when we wrote this. It’s made of polyester with spandex.
It’s definitely not for daily use, but when you want to break out something unique and startling, it lets you show off your giraffe love and your incredibly bad taste in ugly sweaters!
Wrapping It Up
If you’ re a giraffe lover yourself or you know someone who is, you’ll love making them part of your Christmas festivities. These ornaments and more are a great way to bring these amazing beasts to your celebration in a classy or, umm, gaudy way.
